Record Manager

With the journaling aspect of 1Journal, you can record your thoughts, feelings, events, dreams and whatever else you think is appropriate for your writing, as you would expect with any good desktop software for journaling. In addition, however, 1Journal gives another powerful feature - the ability to keep records*, when you are primarily interested in just keeping data about your life. For example, if you want to keep track of your blood pressure on a regular basis, you can create a record template with a datetime component and 2 number components - one for systolic and one for diastolic pressure measurements. Then using the template, you can quickly and easily record your blood pressure on whatever schedule that is appropriate for you. As a few examples, you can keep track of the following, as often or as seldom as you like.

  • medicine intake
  • vitamin intake
  • basic exercise data (how much and what kinds)
  • what you have read
  • body measurements
You can mix and match record components to create record templates from the following types of components and be as detailed or as non-detailed as you like.
  • Numbers / Measurements
  • Text / Strings
  • Datetime
  • References to Journals, Bookmarks or other Records
You can also graph records or plot them on a timeline for analysis. You can even build records from other records. It can be about as simple or as complex as you want it to be. There are some record templates included with 1Journal and in the download templates section you can find and share record templates with others. If you don't find what you need, then submit an issue and we will try to post the appropriate template in the community area accordingly. And you will always have the flexibility to create and customize record templates to your unique and personal desires.
